Jesux is to be released in December with features such as the default fortune file containing quotes from the scriptures.

----- Click Read More if you want to visit the site ------

OMFG... Now i've heard everything. Why do Christians need a differnet version of Linux? OMG. That has got to be the sadest thing i've heard all day. And its only 4 hours and 4 minutes into the day. I doubt i'll hear anything worse. Blah. I hate the fact that Christians think they are better than everyone else... that they need their own special little stuff to do their job. I'm sorry... but Jesus didn't have a differnet car than everyone else. He didn't live in a gated neighborhood where only Christians lived. He didn't use a differnet version of Linux than everyone else... Ok... maybe not those things, but i'm sure he wouldn't have. He would have been out among the people. He was a normal guy. (Well... not really, but to the naked eye he was) Enough with the Christian stuff.

-Matt

read more | digg story

Arby's

Ok... I must start this rant by saying that Arby's is my favorite fast food restaurant. I might even go as far as saying its my favorite restaurant period. But that's a stretch. I have 3 categories when choosing my favorite restaurant. The first is fast food, in which Arby's wins. The second is the casual dining restaurant in which Chili's wins. And the third is Expensive luxury restaurant in which Bahama Breeze wins. (Yes... even though its still kinda casual, its expensive and good. lol.) The difference being... i would take a date to Bahama Breeze and i would take a friend to Chili's. Ok... I'm off topic.

As i said, i love Arby's. However, they really piss me off. Let me just start off by saying that when your posted hours of operation says you are going to be open until 10:00pm I expect you to stay open until 10:00pm and provide full service and food. Unfortunately, Arby's doesn't understand this. I can tell you that around 8:00pm Arby's usually pours out all of the tea. Around 9:00 they stop slicing turkey and put it all away. Around 9:30 they stop making food period. What happens if you go into Arby's at 9:45? You have the choice of a roast beef sandwich and a fountain drink. Now, if you like these things, then you'd be fine. But if you are like me, you will be pissed off.

What do i get when i go to Arby's? I get ONE thing. And only ONE thing. That is a roast chicken club, a giant sized order of curly fries and a large Ice Tea. :-) I can say that faster than you can say Arby's. That's the only thing i like there. That meal just hits the spot for me. That meal is associated with Cowboy Bebop and Star Gate. lol. Seriously... When i eat that meal, i want to watch Spike beat the shit out of someone and Tilk shoot a Gould with a staff weapon. Ok... that was geeky. But still... that's what i think of. Again, i seem to be getting off topic.

What i don't understand is why its so hard for Arby's to make the food they advertise until they close. How hard is it to make tea until 10:00pm? Why is it that you have to pour it out at 8? Why not pore it out at 10 when you close. Why stop and put up everything but roast beef at 9? Most restaurants i know require employees to stay after the closing time to clean up and put stuff away. You wouldn't see a restaurant like Teds (a Mexican restaurant) stop making tortilla's before they close? You wouldn't see McDonalds stop making hamburgers before they close. Why does Arby's think they can do this? I don't know.

The other thing that pisses me off is that they lock the doors and turn the lights off at 9:45. One time, several months ago, i drove up to Arby's on a Saturday night at 9:45. I drove up and sat there. I sat there at least 30 seconds before i see all the lights and signs go off. I'm sitting there thinking "Ok... did Edmond just loose power or did Arby's just close early?" Just to make sure i was correct about them closing at 9:45, i got out of my truck and walked to the door to see what the sticker said. Sure enough, it said they were open until 10:00pm. It was only 9:48 according to my GPS. So i drove up to the window and saw the lights in the restaurant open but no one visible. I sat there until about 9:50 or 51. At which point i see a head peak out from behind the cash register and then abruptly pull back. At this point, i was flaming mad. I turned my siren/Air-Horn/PA unit on and let it go. I sounded that Air-Horn for about 30 seconds. At this point, i see the head peak around again. To which i do the dreaded "come here" finger gesture. (with the index finger of course... i wasn't trying to be rude. ) A black gentleman comes to the window and asks what i need. I say then say that i would like a number 8, giant sized with curly fries and a large ice tea. He says "Oh... We are closed." I look at him with a blank stare and say "But your sign says you don't close until 10" He says "It is 10." To this i abruptly pull my GPS off of my dash and show him the face plate which says 9:59pm. I say "According to this clock its 9:59. This clock is linked to 25 satellites in space that are calibrated by NASA and set to the Atomic clock. This clock is not wrong. It is never wrong. If it is wrong, there are 25 satellites in space that are wrong." At this point he says "Well it says its 10:00pm now." To which i look at it and it says its 10:00pm. To which point i say "I drove up here at 9:48. I've wasted 12 minutes of my life waiting on you people. You will go back and make me my food now."

Btw... That is a little trick i learned from my Dad. It works about 75% of the time. When someone says they can't do something or they won't do something, simply make a factual statement and then say that they will do something. Like... "I'm sorry sir i can't let you into this restricted area." You say "I have clearance to get in. Now you will let me in." and they will let you in. Its kind of funny sometimes for the strangest reasons too. Like... if you are in a price war at a garage sale with the owner and he won't take 15 dollars for an item that he wants 20 for... just kind of laugh and then tell him "You'll take 15 dollars" and hand him the money and act like you are leaving. What's he gonna do? lololol. Ok... off topic again. ARG!

After i make my demand he looks at me funny and then says "We've already put up all the food, even if i wanted to make you the food, i couldn't. " To this i just stare at him and in a pissed off tone say "Alright. But you might mention to your manager that she'll be hearing from the district manager soon." I really hate using that threat though. Mainly because i know its over-used. It's like telling a cop that they are going to be fired or loose their job. 9 times out of 10 nothing happens. But i was pissed off and needed something to vent my anger with. I'm sure the lady was just trembling with fear after she heard the threat..... rofl. Ok, maybe not. But it was still fun.

So basically... even though Arby's is my favorite restaurant, they still suck at time management. If you want their food, make sure you get their at least 2 hours prior to their posted closing time or you will not be able to order the food you want.

-Matt Keller

Creepy cat robot from Japan

The creators of the NeCord cat robot should be fined and jailed for ignoring the the Uncanny Valley study, which found that robots that are almost-but-not-quite-completely lifelike are scary. Why is it that guys are so concerned with their masculinity? I know i know... Its what makes guy's, guy's. But still, what does it hurt to be emotional and touchy-feely every now and then? It doesn't make sense.

For example: I was browsing DeviantArt today and was reading the comments on a piece of artwork that portrayed a young boy looking helpless or something. It was really cute. And that's the only other way to describe it. All the girls that commented were going gaga over it. They were saying how cute the picture was and such. Then i saw a guy post up "Aww... Thats so cute." This comment was followed by several other males saying "Awesome pic. " and a random slam against the guy who stated it was cute. What's so wrong with saying something is cute?

Another thing that bothers me is that guy's don't feel comfortable saying that another guy looks good. I mean... you don't have to be gay to see that someone else looks good. lol. But heaven forbid a guy should tell another guy he looks good. Both would get excommunicated from the almighty Church of Men. I guess i just don't see why complimenting another guy is bad.

On another random note. When i was typing the title of this post, i couldn't decide if i was spelling the word "Masculine" right. So i simply went to google and did a search for "Masculine." If the word was spelled wrong, google would tell me and then i'd have the correct spelling. Here's a blog posting about the implications of this partnership, and why it may be the end of TV as we know it.

--------------

This is awesome. I use bittorrent every day for downloading anime and other stuff. I use it every week to download the newest episode of Naruto. I have used it, in the past, to download tv shows such as star trek or star gate. However, now that i have my TIVO, i don't have the need. This is a great idea though. Even if i could eliminate the need to get online every week and check to see if the newest episode of Naruto is out yet, it would be awesome. I'm going to email one of the Dattebayo admins and see what they think. It would require them to setup an RSS server. But i think they'd love the idea. w00t w00t!

-Matt

read more | digg story

Chronicles of Narnia Traier

I hadn't heard of this movie until i saw it on digg, but it looks friggen sweet.

Here goes the awesome and NEW! trailer for The Chronicles of Narnia. I don't actually remember what i was buying. I think i was buying some new boxers or something. lol. I needed some new ones or something. Anyways... For some reason i was in the electronics section. I was through the new releases in the music department. As i was looking, i saw what appeard to be a mother and daughter going down the line looking at movies. At one point, the mother stopped and picked up a movie and looked at the daughter, and the daughter just looked back at the mother in disgust. The daughter goes "OMG! Thats such a depressing movie. I can't believe you want to see that." Now... this might be expected of some daughters. But not of a girl around the age of 8 or so. That's right. An eight year old. Now... i could be off. But thats what she looked like. I guess kids are growing up faster and faster.

Speaking of kids growing up faster and faster... I was at the movie theater yesterday seeing The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy. It was a pretty good movie. Anyways. Before the movie started, i had the urge to get a bag of Recese Pieces. So i left the theater and proceeded out. When i got the door of the theater, there was a group of about 4 or 5 boys. If i had to guess, i would say they were most likely middle school age. Maybe 7th grade... 12 or 13. Now... i know puberty starts at 12 or 13. But thats when it starts. I didn't think it was supposed to be done by 12. As i was walking by, i heard two of the boys talking. Then the other one said something and when he said it, i kind of took a double take. He had the deepest voice. I swear. He sounded like a radio announcer. I looked back and he looked completely normal. You wouldn't guess for a second he had that voice. I was like... WTF. I think parents are feeding their children steroids. Back when i worked at OCS, i noticed the same thing. Middle school aged boys are materuing a lot faster than normal. But then i guess you have to consider what is normal. They developed a lot faster than my class did. But when you look at the class behind the current 7th graders, you see a very undeveloped and immature class. They look like elementary students. I guess some classes are just more mature than others. It just makes you think.

My psychology professor made a comment concerning this topic the other day. She said that today's generation is mateuring and ageing faster than the generation before it. She said that it has been scientfically proven. I don't exactly remember why. But it would be interesting to find out. And that concludes today's random and pointless post. Have a nice day!

Sincerely,

Matt Keller

Well... I have to say that i have strong feelings about this topic. This is a topic where i would probably veer away from my party. I believe that everyone should have the right to say, write, and publish anything we want. If that includes porn, so be it. I don't think the government should have any business in determining what is right and wrong. They should not be in the position to make a value judgment. Who is to say what is right or wrong. Christians contend that porn is not right and a sin. Some other religions might say its ok. Who's to say that Christianity is the only correct view. If we start imposing our morals and values on everything, it could potentially get out of hand. What if, down the road, some extremist group somehow came to power and started saying that we couldn't wear certain things because it was immoral. You can't just look at what is wrong now and make a law against it. You have to look at everything in context.

That probably came out completely wrong due to the fact that its 12am and i'm dead tired. But my mind won't quit running until i write this down. lol.

Lets say for example that Mrs. Jones believes porn is wrong. She uses her religion, the bible, to back up her claim that it is wrong. On the other hand, Mr. Smith thinks its perfectly fine. He see's no problem with it. He doesn't believe in the bible or Christianity. If we rule in favor of Mrs. Jones we are saying that everyone should follow the ways of Christianity. Now... I'm not saying Christianity is wrong at all. I am a Christian. However, i don't think religion has any business in our government. Why you ask? What if Christianity wasn't the major religion? What if it was say... the Islamic faith? Would you want those morals and values imposed on you? Would you want the government forcing you to wear cloths, women, that cover your entire body? Would you, men, want to be forced to grow beards? No. Of course not. If we let religion play a role in government, that is what will happen. We will start imposing our morals and values on everyone. We will be no different than the government of Iraq. That is why there is a separation of Church and State. The founding fathers knew how dangerous religion could be. They had their beliefs, mostly Christian. However, they realized that even though they strongly believed the way they did, this nation could not be TRULEY free with religion in government.

I also oppose prayer in school for the same reason. Most people support prayer in school as long as its CHRISTIAN prayer. What if the teacher was Muslim? Would you want your child to be subjected to and/or forced to pray to the east 7 times a day? I don't think so. People think that as long as the established religion agrees with them, they don't have anything to worry about. That's one of the things that pisses me off about these groups that push for prayer in school. They don't just want prayer, they want Christian prayer. What about the other religions? Do they not get a say? These people seem to be so narrow minded about the issue.

Another topic that was brought up today in one of my classes was that of private organizations and their ability to reject members based on sexual orientation, race, gender, or anything else. This is a hard topic to deal with. On the one hand we have the rights of the organization to choose who can be a member. If this were not their right, it wouldn't be private would it? It would be public. The Boy Scouts, for example, would have to admit girls. It wouldn't be the boy scouts anymore now would it? However, you have a problem when it comes to things like sexual orientation. Why should you be left out just because you are gay? Its the same thing with race. Why should you be left out just because you are black? Those two things are the same thing.

I heard a funny quote the other day. It was something along the lines of "Homosexuals are the new black people." Basically saying that gays and lesbians are the current group of people being oppressed. I hate that everyone always talks so badly about discrimination and how it was so terrible that we had a segregated society based on race, and yet we turn around and do the VERY SAME THING to homosexuals. Its the same thing. Period. End of question. You might as well discriminate based on race. If you're going to do one, just do them all. It makes no difference. People like focus on the family who talk so badly about gays and lesbians and about how they shouldn't have any rights and should all be "dealt with" piss me off. Its sad actually. In 50 years, hopefully, when gays and lesbians have equal rights and equal treatment, those organizations such as focus on the family and other extremist groups will looked upon as they do the KKK and Nazi's. They will be frowned upon as extremist. And i say that with confidence.

I think the solution to the problem is to take it one step at a time. I think race, ethnicity, and sexual orientation should be protected. I don't think you should be able to discriminate against someone based on those. Items such as age and gender are a bit different. I don't think employers should be able to discriminate against age and gender, but admittance to private organizations shouldn't have to allow EVERYONE in. If they did, then there would be no private organizations. The other option would be to just keep it how it is. I don't know why anyone would want to be part of an organization that wants to discriminate against you. Honestly. Why would you want to be somewhere you are not accepted? It doesn't make sense. The problem with this is when you leave it how it is, and people start seeing how terrible you are and such, these organizations start complaining about being discriminated against themselves. How ironic? They complain that communities won't allow them to participate. They complain that they aren't allowed to use government facilities because they discriminate against sexual orientation. My opinion is that if you want to do these things, that’s fine. But you get what you pay for. If you want to do these terrible things, don't expect to be treated like a king.

Bah! The topic is so broad. I could talk forever on it. I guess my thinking has turned more liberal over the years. However, that is only on certain issues. Issues such as homosexuality and religion are two important topics to me. Maybe that’s why i have different views on them. As i said before. Some people like to call me moderate. However... i am not. I am a conservative who has some liberal beliefs. lol. I still think welfare is stupid. I don't think healthcare should be free. I think guns should be legal. heh. I could go on. When you are born, you are not guaranteed success. You are simply allowed the chance for it. You shouldn't have things handed to you. Tis not the American way. Some people have forgotten the famous slogan. "Ask not what your country can do for you, but what you can do for your country." Now days, it seems like everyone is asking the opposite.

As I said, I don’t know if what I’m thinking in my head came out very well on here. Hopefully it made sense. I’ll try to clarify some of the stuff soon. But now i must sleep. I hope you all have a great week!

Sincerely,

Matt Keller

Safe Driving

You know what pisses me off more than anything else while on the road? It's when people don't use thier turn signals. I love it when morons are driving down the road and have to slam on their breaks or slow down and wait and get mad when other drivers ignore them. They think that everyone should just automatically know what they are doing. I heard a really funny ad on the radio the other day on this "Road Raged Hotline." This old man called and and said "You know... i really really really wish they'd creat a device that told other drivers which way you were turning. WOULDN'T THAT BE GREAT?" LOL. I about died laughing. The man was sooo funny. How freaking hard is it to hit the little stick on the left side of the wheel. Really... Does it take that much effor? I don't think so. If i were a cop or someone in law enforcement, i would most certainly ticket people for not using their turn signals. Its the law. Its not one of those optional things. You can not, legally, turn left or right without signaling first. You can not change lanes with out signalling first. You're supposed to freaking signal when turning into a parking spot. I mean.... bah! I give up.

I've determined that there are very few drivers that actually drive well. If they use their turn signal, they speed. If they drive the speed limit, they don't signal. If they don't speed and signal, they don't stop at stop signs. I've seen only a few vehicles that have actually followed all of the laws. People get pissed off when i drive correctly. I seriously have people honking and flipping me off for following the law. Whether its by going the speed limit, stoping at stop signs, or turning left or right out of a second turn lane, I always have dumb idiots that get mad. Very few people know how to stop at a stop sign. When you get to it.... you actually have to stop. What an idea! "You mean i can't just roll through it?" No you moron! It doesn't say Yield does it? NO! When it says stop, that means your vehicle must competely stop rolling. I once sat at the intersection of Waterloo and Broadway and watched for vehicles that stopped all the way. I saw 2 that actually stopped. Do you konw how long i sat there? 2 hours. Yes.... on average, only one vehicle per hour stopped properly. That's sad.

Another thing that annoyes the hell out of me is when people don't realize there are TWO turn lanes when they are turning. You always see these multiple turn lanes to turn left. For the most part, those are ok. You still have the occasional idiot that doesn't know he has to follow the dotted white lines and stay on his side, but for the most part, people stay in their lanes. HOWEVER!! When you have multiple lanes that turn right, thats a different story. You see... Most poeple do not turn right correctly. When you turn right, i would bet money that you always turn into the ouside lane. (The lane closest to the center) Why? Who knows. Sometimes it's becuase you need in that lane. Other times its because you lack the ability to make a sharp turn. I don't know. This causes a major problem becuase people get accoustomed to it. Then, when they are presented with a situation where there are multiple right turn lanes, people continue to turn right and cross over into the other lane. If you are trying to turn right out of the second turn lane, the lane that turns directly into the outside lane, you get cut off and pushed into oncoming traffic. This is very common. Why can people not just turn right into the inside lane closest to the curb and then switch lanes? Yes, i wouldn't mind if you needed in that ouside lane instatly. For example, if you needed to turn left into a business. However... what is the purpose of doing so if you do not need in the lane?

Another thing that bothers me is the ammount of people that consider themselves good drivers even though they are clearly not. MOST of my friends say they are good drivers. However, when it comes to their driving, they either speed, fail to stop at stop signs, or simply drive wrecklessly. I'm sorry, but you are not a good driver if you speed. Period. That is bad driving. It's unsafe and against the law. I don't give a flying flip if you disagree with the laws. Its not up to you. If you don't like the laws, go have them changed. You know... we have a representative government peoples. Just becuase you think you are safer, doesn't mean you are. In fact, most people have no idea how to control their vehicles properly. Police and law enforcement officers know this very well. They deal with terrible accidents every day involving over-confident teens who thought they could handel their car when in fact they couldn't. Thats why we have laws. If you don't like them, move to Germany where they don't have speed limits. And even Germany has speed limits. Actually... if that was the main reason you moved there, you probably wouldn't end up getting a license. Do you know why? Becuase their licesning system is so complex and thorough, they would figure out what a terrible driver you were and deny you your license.

Remember, just becuase you think you are a good driver, doesn't mean you are. To attain this status, you must follow all of the laws. Not just some of them. I can with confidence say that i follow every single law there is. I travel the speed limit. I use my turn signal. I stop at stop signs. I'm one of the safest drivers in the state. I know that i'm not as trained and skilled as a race car driver or policeman. Thats why i follow the laws. And by doing so, i am a safe driver. You can be too. Simply follow the laws.

Sincerely,

Matt Keller

Introduction

Well... I've decided to utilize this blog. This blog seems like a good place for me to post certain rants and opinions that i hold. It won't be updated as often as my xanga, however, i will try my best. As my profile says, if you want to read about my life or daily happenings, you will need to visit my xanga.

Let me introduce myself quickly. My name is Matt Keller. I live in Edmond Oklahoma. I go to the University of Central Oklahoma. I am majoring in broadcast communications. My dream is to one day become an engineer at a tv station or major network. I used to work at a local high school called Oklahoma Christian School. However, due to some reasons i can not disclose, i no longer work there. I consider myself to be, for the most part, a conservative. However, on certain major topics, i do lean towards the left. Some would say i'm moderate. However, in my opinion, calling yourself a moderate means you don't care either way. And i do certainly care. I do consider myself bisexual. That may be one of the reasons i lean left on certain issues, obviously. I'm not currently in a relationship with anyone.

Here are a few major topics blowing around in today's world. I will list the topic followed by my view on the topic.

Gay Marriage and Rights- I support gay marriage. Everyone should have equal rights.

Abortion - I do not support abortion. I believe life starts at conception.

The War in Iraq - I support the war in Iraq. Terrorism must be dealt with sooner or later.

Taxes - I hate taxes, as does everyone else.

Welfare - I do not support the idea of the government paying for everyone and everything. However, i do understand that we can not just STOP supporting those in the system. I believe we should get them off the system as quickly as possible and stop making them so reliant on it.

Social Security Reform - Bah! No one knows the exact details. The current system will die in 20 or 30 years. If we don't do something now, we'll have to do something later. I'd rather deal with it now that put it off.

I really don't want to think of anything else at the moment. So, for now I’ll stop. Basically, as i said earlier, when something pops into my head that pisses me off or i want to speak about, I’m going to write it here. I must go now. I have several things to do and so very little day light in which to do it.

Sincerely,

Matt Keller

<img src="http://www.blogblog.com/audiopost.gif" class="audImg"border="0" alt="this is an audio post -
